Terms of Service
Please read these terms before using the Bangkok Tensoya service. By registering as a member or using the service, you are deemed to agree to these terms. This is a translation of the Japanese original; if there is any difference, the Japanese version prevails.
Article 1. About these terms
These terms set out the conditions for using the parcel forwarding service from Thailand to Japan and the payment service (the “Service”) provided by Bangkok Tensoya (part of the Bangkok Benriya group; “we” or “us”).
Article 2. Membership and account
- Membership is free. Please register yourself and enter correct information.
- Please keep your email address and password safe. We are not responsible for any damage caused by use by a third party.
- If your registered information changes, please update it promptly on My Page.
Article 3. Our service
- We receive parcels that you have bought and paid for yourself at our receiving address in Thailand, and ship them to your delivery address in Japan.
- When your parcel arrives, we notify you with photos and measure its weight and size. On request, we pack several parcels into one box.
- You can choose the shipping method from EMS, ePacket, sea mail and FedEx. Some methods may not be available depending on the contents.
- Delivery times are estimates and may vary with customs clearance and the season.
Article 4. Items we cannot send
- We cannot accept or ship items that are prohibited by international postal or air transport rules or by law. For details, see the Prohibited and Restricted Items page.
- For batteries (dry cells, lithium batteries, etc.) and products with built-in batteries, we remove the battery and ship only the product, as long as the battery can be removed. Simple removal is free. If removal is difficult, for example because it needs an outside specialist, we will tell you the cost first and, after you agree, charge the actual cost separately. If you do not accept the removal cost, we will return the item to the shop where you bought it if possible (return shipping etc. paid by you). If it cannot be returned, or if we do not receive a reply or payment of the return shipping within 7 days of contacting you, we will dispose of it. If you have a problem, please contact us early. Removed batteries are disposed of by us free of charge. Products whose battery cannot be removed cannot be sent. Liquids and creams can only be sent by sea mail.
- Even if an item is not on the list, we may decide that it cannot be sent. In that case, we will contact you and, after talking with you, either return it to the shop where you bought it (shipping etc. paid by you) or dispose of it. If we do not receive a reply or payment of the return shipping within 7 days of contacting you, we will dispose of it.
Article 5. Storage and disposal
- Storage is free for 1 month from the day your parcel arrives.
- After 1 month, a storage fee of 200 baht per month applies.
- If 6 months pass after the free period without payment of the storage fee, we may dispose of the parcel. We will notify your registered email address before disposal. We are not responsible for disposed parcels.
Article 6. Fees and payment
- Fees are shown on the home page and the shipping estimate page. Prices are basically shown in Thai baht.
- We bill you in Japanese yen. We convert Thai baht to yen based on Mizuho Bank’s foreign currency exchange rate.
- Payment methods are bank transfer in Japan, bank transfer in Thailand, Wise transfer and credit card. Credit card payments are charged in US dollars (USD) with a 5% processing fee added. For details, see the Payment Methods page.
- You choose your payment method when you request forwarding. You can change it on My Page until we send you the amount to pay. It cannot be changed after that.
- We ship your parcel after confirming your payment.
Article 7. Payment service
- The payment service is a service in which we pay a shop on your behalf for goods you have bought. The fee is 100 baht per shop (the price of the goods is separate).
- You pay us first. After we confirm your payment, we pay the shop. You can see the transfer slip of our payment to the shop on My Page.
- The shop where you bought the goods is responsible for their contents, quality and delivery.
Article 8. Customs duties and import tax
Customs duties, import consumption tax and similar charges when receiving the parcel in Japan are paid by the recipient. The amount is decided by customs, so we cannot tell you in advance.
Article 9. Loss, damage and delay
- The Service is a service that receives and forwards parcels. We do not provide compensation for loss, damage or delay during delivery.
- Loss or damage that happens in Thailand before the parcel reaches us is the responsibility of the shop or the delivery company the shop used. We can help you negotiate with them, but it may take time and we cannot promise the result.
- Loss, damage or delay on the way to Japan is the responsibility of the delivery company (Thailand Post, Japan Post, FedEx, etc.), and compensation follows each company’s rules.
- Notwithstanding the above, this does not apply to damage caused by our intentional act or gross negligence.
Article 10. Returns and resending
If a shipped parcel comes back because of an unknown address, refusal to receive, expiry of the holding period or similar reasons, you pay the actual cost of resending (shipping etc.).
Article 11. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel a shipping request or payment service until you pay us.
- After you have paid us, cancellations and refunds are not possible.
- However, if we cannot ship or make the payment for reasons on our side, we will refund the amount you paid.
Article 12. Prohibited acts and suspension
The following acts are prohibited. If any apply, we may suspend your use of the Service without prior notice.
- Making a false declaration about the contents or value of a parcel
- Sending items prohibited by law or items you know cannot be sent
- Registering or using the Service by pretending to be someone else
- Not paying fees, or causing trouble to us or other customers
Article 13. Changes to the terms and contact
- We may change these terms when necessary. Changed terms take effect when they are posted on this page.
- For questions about the Service, please contact us using the contact form or our official LINE account.
